Do you want to "collect" played hours via steam or to post screenshots? Cause those are the only benefits for now, making game moddable is on the roadmap but it needs time to be finished so no Workshop either at this moment. It allows for truly organic town layouts without the grid and angle restrictions on a three-dimensional landscape. Keep up the good work, you have a fantastic game man.įair or not, we should respect how Yevheniy wants to distribute his keys as the developer of this game - after launching on steam - and I don't really see how giving them earlier would change things for current players who bought this game via Yevheniy site. Ostriv aims to raise the bar of city-building experience by adding a huge amount of possibilities and removing annoying limitations. It doesn't seem "fair" to those who showed their support early, but it does make sense when you look at it from Steams contractual rules. I didn't consider that, I just knew that Steam keys could be requested before a game was launched.I understand now why you can't distribute Steam keys before it launches but you could for example give testing keys away before launch to say people who never purchased your game.

I does actually make sense that since you currently sell keys for your game through your website and humble bundle that giving keys here on Steam for those purchases would breach the Steam developer contract. Even the current solution is somewhere on the edge if you read the Distribution Agreement carefully. It's not at all, I just feel that this is "stating the obvious" and stating that getting all your supporters who purchased the game Steam keys now should only help you get a better launch build ready for when this does launch here on Steam! Please don't take this post as a "complaint". This should also help you greatly in testing, feedback, bug reporting etc BEFORE you officially launch this game to the tens of millions of Steam users around the world I absolutely love your game Yevheniy, but now that you've got Ostriv on Steam, it's time to give all of those who showed you their money and support a little love and get Steam keys to us!. The reason I know this is because I also have my own Steam games and how he can request these keys now for us. There is ZERO reason I can think of that supporters of him should need to wait until this game officially launches to get a Steam key. However many keys that he has sold on Humble Bundle he simply needs to request from Steam and get these keys to us. However, now that Ostriv is on Steam, all he needs to do is simply request keys from Steam to give to all of the people who have supported him and his development of this game.

Since then, I know for a fact that I've helped him sell 11 more copies that I know of for certain through Humble Bundle. I showed my support to this developer of Ostriv way back in 2017.
